This morning’s sunrise is one of the most beautiful of the year to watch, for minutes on end, a golden pathway stretching from Point Perry to the sun. With, very little wind and a WNW, the water, glassy and inviting, I finished my session and plotted my return for a swim.
Sometimes, it’s a tug between being in the water and photographing it from above. I love the vantage from Point Perry, looking north to south over the deeper ocean. There’s always a crowd leaning over the rail when the surf’s up there, today, just one other and myself soaking in the beauty of it. The trick is to slow down enough to expereince the moment, rather than just let the shutter go. Pausing, appreciating, then capturing.
I did stop for a moment on main beach, Coolum, the SUPs were out, the long boards, the short boards, not necessarily there for the swell but for the peace and joy of being on the water. Dolphins were jumping further out, revelling in the calm conditions also.
After such a full on week at work, I relax, still that concious chatterbox and just be. Sandy feet, happy heart, I head home to change into my swimmers.
Here’s to your Sunday!
